Terms of Service

The rules for using BranchAI, in plain language: your account, your documents, the notes we make from them, and what we ask of you.

The short version

Your documents stay yours, and we use them only to make your study notes. The notes are made by AI and can be wrong, so check anything important. Keep your account to yourself and use BranchAI fairly. If your school has an agreement with us, that agreement comes first.

Who we are and who these terms are for

BranchAI (“BranchAI”, “we”, “us”) turns dense documents into calm, colour-coded study notes built for dyslexic students. BranchAI is a product of LearningWithBranch Limited, a company registered in Ireland (no. 822234), with its registered office at Abington, 33 York Road, Dún Laoghaire, Dublin, A96 F223.

These terms apply to everyone who signs in to BranchAI: students, teachers, and anyone using it on their own. By signing in, you agree to them.

If you use BranchAI through your school, your school may also have a written agreement with us. That agreement governs the relationship between your school and us, and where it differs from these terms, the agreement takes precedence.

Your account

  • You sign in with your Google account. Keep that account secure, because anyone who can sign in to it can sign in to BranchAI as you.
  • An account is for one person. Do not share it, and do not sign in as somebody else.
  • If you think someone else has used your account, tell us at hello@learningwithbranch.com.
  • If your school added you, your school manages parts of your account, such as the name shown for you and the classes you are in, and it can remove you from the school.

Students and younger users

BranchAI is built for students, including those under 18. Where a student is below the age of digital consent in their country (between 13 and 16 across the EU), BranchAI should be set up and supervised by a parent, guardian, or the student’s school. Our privacy policy explains how we handle younger users’ data.

Your documents

  • They stay yours. Uploading a document to BranchAI does not give us ownership of it.
  • You give us permission to work with them. So that BranchAI can do its job, you allow us to store the documents you upload, turn them into study notes, and read them aloud when you ask. We use them only to provide BranchAI, including showing them to the people they are shared with inside BranchAI, such as a teacher’s class or a support teacher, and our privacy policy names the providers who help us do that.
  • Only upload what you are allowed to use. That means your own work, material your teacher or school has given you to study, or anything else you have the right to use. Please do not upload other people’s personal information that you do not need for studying.
  • You can delete them. You can delete any document you uploaded at any time, which removes the file and the notes made from it.

The study notes BranchAI makes

BranchAI uses AI to turn your documents into study notes, keyword tiles and quizzes. AI can make mistakes: a note can get something wrong, leave something out, or highlight the wrong thing.

  • Treat the notes as a study aid. Check anything important against the original document and your teacher.
  • BranchAI does not assess or diagnose dyslexia or any other learning difference, and it is not a substitute for your teacher, your school, or professional advice.
  • You may use the notes made from your documents for your own study and, if you are a teacher, for teaching.

Using BranchAI fairly

When you use BranchAI, please do not:

  • upload anything unlawful, or anything that harms or harasses another person;
  • try to see or change another person’s account, documents or notes, or get around the ways we keep them private;
  • probe, scan or test BranchAI for weaknesses without our written permission;
  • use automated tools to copy from, flood or overload the service;
  • resell BranchAI or pass it off as your own.

To keep BranchAI working well for everyone, we set fair limits on things like how many documents can be uploaded in a day.

Our service

BranchAI is a young product and it changes as we learn from the students and teachers using it. We may add, change or remove features. When a change will significantly affect how you use BranchAI, we will tell you in advance where we reasonably can.

We work to keep BranchAI available and reliable, but we cannot promise it will always be free of interruptions or errors.

The BranchAI name, logo, software and design belong to us. These terms let you use BranchAI; they do not give you any other rights in it.

Stopping, and closing accounts

You can stop using BranchAI at any time. You can permanently delete your account yourself from your settings page; our privacy policy explains exactly what that removes.

We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, or where we need to in order to protect other users or comply with the law. Where it is appropriate, we will tell you why.

Our responsibility to you

Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have by law that cannot be limited, including your rights as a consumer, or our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

Beyond that, and as far as the law allows, we are not responsible for loss that was not reasonably foreseeable when you started using BranchAI, or for decisions made by relying on a study note without checking it against the original.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as BranchAI grows. When we make a meaningful change we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, let you know directly. The version published here is always the current one.

The law that applies

These terms are governed by Irish law, and the courts of Ireland deal with any dispute about them. If you live elsewhere in the European Union, you keep the protections of your own country’s consumer law and can bring a claim in your own country’s courts.
